Spirit of 73 at Bowery Stadium

1973 was the best of times. 1973 was the worst of times. Two giant towers rose at the southern tip of the island and an immortal house was gutted in the Bronx. Hip-hop took its first steps in Cedar Park, while punk rock nursed on the Bowery. An unlikely baseball comeback fell just short in Queens, while New York stood tallest in basketball’s midtown mecca. The troops came home but trust was a casualty. Lines between uptown and downtown blurred; art bit commerce, commerce bit back. As always, New York cannibalized its glorious past and spit out the seeds of its illustrious future. It was 1973, and the only promise of energy to produce something truly new.

In remembrance of that special moment in time and the last championship title earned by New York’s basketball franchise, Bowery Stadium presents the Spirit of 73′ installation.  In addition, STADIUM MFG now offers an entirely brand new range of basketball inspired creative used to customize specific Nike Sportswear apparel and new items have been added to retail.  Be sure to stop on in to check it out Thursday – Sunday, 12-7pm.
