Final HTM Fly Knit release
This Saturday saw the final release in the HTM Fly Knit series, drawing the Fly Knit installation at 1948 to a close. Designed by Hiroshi Fujiwara, Tinker Hatfield and Mark Parker, the release of the black speckle HTM Fly Knit colourway saw eager fans waiting since 10pm on Friday night for a chance to get their hands on one of twenty pairs. With one keen fan even sending down his assistant to queue on behalf of him! (We hope he rewarded her kindly.) With the next batch of Fly Knit shoes due for release in late April, we spoke with some of the those that waited overnight to be the first to get the shoe and the last in the trilogy. Name: Tesoro Age: 26 What was it about the HTM Fly Knit that made you queue? T: I waited since 11pm on Friday. Most because of Hiroshi, I am a huge fan of his work and I have the other two so I wanted the complete set. Mostly because of Hiroshi, I am a huge fan of his work and I love these shoes! Was it worth the wait? Yes hundred percent, i’m very happy. I cannot wait to [...]
HTM FLYKNIT TRAINER+ DROP
- City:
- London
- Date:
- March 12 2012
Two weeks ago we launched the HTM Flyknit collection with the release of the Flyknit Racer at 1948 London. With only 12 pairs available, they sold out within minutes, fueling the desire for the second installment in the pack: the HTM Flyknit Trainer+. Featuring NikePlus and a Lunaron sole, each shoe was indiviually numbered from 1-100. The White/Volt colourway, a beautiful reflection of the retail installation, showcased the design potential of the Knit technology with its intricate weave. On the morning of the sale, a 50-strong crowd of sneakerheads patiently waited for the doors to open at 12pm to purchase the shoe. Those waiting outside were kept entertained with the latest offering from our 1948 Sports Clubs: Spartan Bars Training – an anytime, anyplace, workout plan. The 18 pairs sold out immediately, and those who missed out were given hope of the third and final installment in the pack, the black/speckle HTM Flyknit Trainer+ being made available on March 24th. [...]
