Yesterday, the selected participants of the Flyknit Challenge started their day with a run with London 2012 athlete Andrew Howe and Gold Medal Venuste Niyongabo, in order to understand the needs of the runners and experience running in the city.

In the afternoon, a workshop on the three benefits of Flyknit was giving them the opportunity to get all necessary insights and knowledge in order to shape an ultimate design project for the runners of Milan. [...]

The Flyknit Collective workshop participants warmed up today with a run lead by London 2012 athlete Andrew Howe and Gold Medal Venuste Niyongabo. A 5Km run through the streets of Corso Como, Corso Garibaldi and Parco Sempione before starting brainstorming and going deeper on the three benefits of Flyknit with Odoardo Fioravanti, Carlo Antonelli, Joseph Grima, Ben Shaffer, Martin Lotti and Neville Wakefield and being ready to shape their design projects for runners of Milan. Yesterday the Flyknit Collective project was going on with Challenge 2 “Sustainability” lead by Carlo Antonelli. It was also the launch of the HTM Flyknit 2nd Release at Stadium Milano, 10 Corso Como and Excelsior Milano. A whole busy day dedicated to design and innovation. [...]

At Nike Stadium Milano it’s the last chance to be selected for the Flyknit Collective workshop tomorrow. Joseph Grima editor in chief of Domus Magazine, lead the briefing about Formfitting, encouraging participants to find an existing design object, and try to understand how to transform it by fitting something to it using simple materials. Participants have until 4PM to customize a design object with a “garment” that should be functional, and not permanently attached to the original design object. [...]

Milan, April 17th. In order to celebrate design and innovation Nike launched the HTM Flyknit 2nd Release exclusively in Milan for Design Week. The pack included the HTM Racer in total orange and two versions of the HTM Trainer+ in grey and volt and black and white. It was launched simultaneously at Nike Stadium Milan, 10 Corso Como and Excelsior. The crowd was a combination of Nike friends and family, sneaker-heads and people united by a passion for design.
